Where do you get your items from?
Troav gets all of our items from suppliers. Troav has a number of Troav Supply Partners that provide their products to the inventory as well. These partners get to market their products in the most direct way, by letting users use them.
What kind of items can I check out?
We have a collection of recreational, novelty, functional, and outdoors products. They include video games, projectors, workout tools, spikeball sets, and robot vacuum cleaners.
What happens if I lose an item?
You will be fined for the cost of replacing it.
What happens if I break an item?
You will be fined for the cost of repairing it.
How long can I keep an item for?
Under the Troav Explorer plan, you can keep the item for up to 3 days. Under the Troav Gold plan, this limit is increased to 5 days.
What if I forget to return an item?
There are small fines for every day you keep a product over the limit.
What if I want to keep an item for a few more days?
If there are no holds on the item, you can contact us via the Feedback tab in the app to request a renewal (without having to bring the item back to us to renew it).
How many items can I have?
Under the Troav Explorer plan, you can check out one item at a time. Under the Troav Gold plan, this limit is increased to two.
Why should I subscribe to Troav and not just rent these items individually for the summer when I need them?
Troav is far cheaper than any local rental service. We do this by forming partnerships, and our unique subscription model keeps costs low and exploration high.
How will I receive my items?
With the Troav Explorer plan, you can pick up and drop off items at our Troav satellite location (on DeWolfe St). Under the Troav Gold plan, we will deliver items to you for free.
How do I give back an item when I’m finished with it?
You can return it to our Troav satellite location. If you have the Troav Gold plan, Troav staff will pick it up from your dorm.
Can I buy and keep an item from you if I really like using it?
Our app and email messages will include links to websites where you can buy the item new for yourself. (We’ll keep the shared item.)
What do I do if I want an item but all units have been checked out?
You can place a hold on the item, and once it becomes available, you can claim it for your own use!
What do I do if I want an item and it’s not on Troav?
Send us a message through the Feedback tab in the app and we’ll look into getting it!
Are the (cooking) items cleaned between uses?
All items are cleaned and maintained between uses.
Am I responsible to clean items before giving them back?
Yes, we ask that our users help in taking care of the products they check out.
